So much to blog….

…. so little order in my brain.

This is partially because of working nights this weekend. This always makes me confused and grumpy.

I’m sorting out my house and it is very satisfying to get rid of stuff. I need to make more room as I’ve got a new lodger moving in soon, and since Claire left the spare room has miraculously filled with junk. Oops. But sorting it out is going well. I’ve been divorced by my cleaner which is a little annoying. Its all a bit myserious, but at least she returned my house keys. And now I have a dirty house, grrr.

Another good house thing is that I’ve had a decorator come and give me a quote for all the work I’ve got pending. I’m in the middle of choosing paint colours, how grown up is that?!? Or maybe I’m beyond help.

I’ve also bought new specs. With the help of Paula, as I’m really rubbish at these things on my own. I am getting blinder. Which is a little distressing as I was quite blind already. I got sunglasses and normal glasses. I might put a picture on facebook sometime, or you might have to find me…

Anything else? Probably, but I want to read Harry Potter so you’ll have to wait. I’ve not started it yet, so lets hope there’s a quite night at work so I get read it.

Letter to anyone…

I’ve seen on a couple of people’s blogs a thing where they write a letter to advise themselves ages 14. Its really interesting, but for me too painful. My teenage years were a mess but I’ve turned out (mostly) ok. So I guess I’d say to myself aged 14…

Dear Lizzie,

This is a letter from the futurs, written by an older version of you, aged 27.

Don’t worry love, it’ll all turn ok in the end.

Love and hugs

Liz

Ps, I still don’t like my name, and not sure I ever will, but I’ve kinda got used to it now.

I like letters and should really write more, as getting replies is ace! There’s a lot of stuff I should do more, which distresses me greatly at the moment I’m afraid. And there’s big changes afoot in my life. I’m not at the stage to publicise it on a worldwidewebpage, but no doubt you’ll hear about it soon-ish.

But I want to dwell on good things.

1) I had an assessment at work and very nice things were said in my ’school report’ which is ace!

2) I’ve got a decorator booked to come and decorate my house

3) I’m going to be working in a really good hospital next year

4) I love my friends.

What is the answer?

I phoned my mobile phone provider yesterday.  I was phoning from my mobile phone and I confimed my name. Then they asked me… "What is the answer to the question?".  Hmmm. I was stumped.

"what is the question?" I asked.

"we can’t tell you that. Security rules."

"so how am I meant to answer it? Can I have a clue?" Liz asks

"we can’t give clues. You should know the question, you picked it. What is the answer?"

This had me totally stumped. I set up my mobile phone account six years ago (when it was a genie phone and was totally ace!). They didn’t seem to understand that I didn’t know.

GaaaaaAAAhhhhhhh.

Baker’s dozen of Policemen

On the way home this afternoon I encountered nine police vehicles and one copper on foot.  This seemed quite a lot. I think two vehicles were going to the same incident (which already had a police bike there) but the other six vehicules plus the foot powered copper are far more than I normally see in the seven mile drive home.

I also saw nine lollypoppeople. But that’s probably cos it was the time that schools finish.

Mmmm, lovely bed.

Oops. I’m still in bed and its almost 1pm. I’ve been up since half ten and playing on my computer.  Oh well, its what a day off is for surely?

I had a fantastic week off. Ireland was really really really beautiful. The cottage we hired was really cute. It was white with a thatched roof about three miles away from anywhere else with a little stream in the garden and a nice wood stove in the lounge.

And that’s all I’m going to tell you for now, as I need to get up and go home* and do things.

* before anyone calls me a dirty stopout, I’m at Andrew’s. And that’s another reason why I’m still in bed as I don’t want to get in the way of his work things.  Grr to working from home.
