Convincing

I’m convinced that today should be friday. I’m tired enough for it to be a Friday. And we had a concert last night and we *never* have a concert on a Wednesday.

I was so convinced that today was Friday that I even put the recycling out when I went to work this morning. Oh well, it’ll be collected tomorrow.

I wanted to rant about booking fees. I booked two tickets for the concert last night for Mum and Andrew and I had to pay a two pound booking fee. What’s all that about? Surely the cost of the ticket involves any fees necessary?  And they should want to fill the concert seats and not charge a stupid booking fee on top of the ticket price.  Rubbish!

Dashing around in the dark

I was in Shropshire briefly today for my Mum’s retirement do. Very nice it was too. Although I wasn’t there for long as this is an uberbusy choir week. I drove there after choir last night, and I was oh so tired as I had only had an hours sleep post nights, which really isn’t enough, but for varoius reasons more sleep didn’t happen.  And then I had to be back in Manchester for choir tonight. We’ve got a concert tomorrow and its going to be AMAZING!!!!!  The Halle orchestra is 150 and the concert is to celebrate. I’m so excited as we’re singing an ace piece and its loud and has got an organ. It brings me a warm special glow.

Weird post

I recieved a piece of weird post yesterday. It was from the head office of my bank in a hand written envelope. Inside was a letter from the National Trust saying they’d lost my address and only had my bank details. They claimed that some post to me had been returned. They asked the bank for forward a letter to me informing me of this. Which my bank did, aren’t they nice!

So, I phoned the national trust to see what was going on. I gave them my membership number and confirmed my name. Then they asked me to confrim my address. Aah, I said.  And I read them the contents of the letter. But they wouldn’t talk to me until I’d comfirmed my address, which they’d claimed not to have.  AArghhhh.

Anyway, I told them my address (well actually its’ Mum’s address, but I wasn’t going to confuse the matter as it seemed pretty confused already) and it was correct. So why something was returned to them by the post office saying I wasn’t known at that address is beyond me. Its been the Thomas household for over 30 years now.

I wonder what weird thing is going to happen next.

A freak accident involving a bowl of soup

I often wonder how freak accidents occur. You sometimes hear on the news that in a certain year X many people died in accients involving trousers, or stairs, or cups of tea.  Well my phone died in a freak accident involving a bowl of soup.

I’d made my soup and put it on the floor as it was too hot. I delved into my work bag and somehow my phone launched itself right into the bowl of soup. I fished it out and hoped. And initally it got my hopes up, but then it wouldn’t charge and the buttons started to play up. And then it died. Rubbish!

In other news. I’ve just worked nights. It upset my karma and made me miserable. I think I need the spring time. Nothing really happened at work, but it did make me really grumpy.  But its over for now. Hurrah!

The annoying lady who didn’t turn up organised another viewing last monday. And she failed to turn up for a second time, much to my extended annoyance. Allegedly she came to the house, but didn’t knock on the door. What a fruitcake!

It was Andrew’s 30th Birthday on Thursday. At the weekend we went out for a Chinese with many friends and it was really yummy, although the service was very slow.  On Thursday itself we saw Andrew’s siblings and he opened his presents. He liked my presents. I’d collected a penny from each year from 1978 to 2007 and then I decorated a picture frame with them and I put a picture of our pet rabbits in it. I also got him a ipod station, which I want!  He loves that too!

I can’t concentrate anymore, time for bed. Night night.

I’m on night and I should probably sleep.

I’ll endeavour to return later to tell you about last week’s adventures

I’m annoyed.

I’ve run around all morning to tidy my house for a viewing and the lady hasn’t turned up. Rubbish I say. But it is nice to have a tidy house again, but I did work very hard in a short space of time (and have a drawer full of wet clothes and more in the washing machine). And there’s things I needed to do more (like hang out my washing and make something). Selling houses is rubbish. Bah.

I’ve had a good week though. I’ve sung twice, and performed minor surgery in the Royal Northern College of music. Work has been busy, with more long hours, and I finally am getting used to what I’m meant to be doing but I move to another department in two weeks!

Kate, Ant and Paula have just visited. The lady for the viewing didn’t turn up. But at least I have a nice clean house, I suppose.

Only once today

I’ll only post once today as its bedtime.

I want the summer now please. And I want all the boring things on my chores list (like making my work portfolio better and up to date) magically done please.

Tonight I’ve been to Leeds. To Ikea to see Rachel. Liz is happy.

Three times in one day.

There’s a lot of exciting things afoot.

Its Andrew’s 30th Birthday next week. We’re celebrating this weekend with lots of friends. I have things planned (its ok, Andrew has been sufficently bored that he’s stopped reading this blog, but just incase he is reading it I shan’t say any more).

I have been invited to perform in the choir at a very exciting and prestigious music festival in March. Its great. But I’ve got to swap a week of nights before I can book it all properly.

I have a lovely dress which I bought in the sales. I think it is ‘the dress’ for when I’m a bridesmaid but I need the bride to approve it!

Three exciting things in the third post of today.

Flying carrots

Carrots keep appearing in my back yard.

I think its a hint from my neighbours that they think I don’t look after Beryl and Reggie properly.

Held hostage by the binmen

I hate the bin men. They are so rude.  They held me hostage for ten minutes today. TEN!!!!  Which made me late for work and generally very very grumpy.

I know they can’t move out the way all the time and it is a big lorry and a small street, but they blocked me in and if they’d have gone back 3 feet more then I could have got out about 4 minutes earlier than I did.

Bastards.

And they left loads of rubbish all over the street.

I don’t want them to stop coming, as I do like my rubbish taken away, but I wish they weren’t so f’ink rude. So there.
